Why use a professional make-up artist?
A professionally trained makeup artist has been trained in all aspects of makeup and is able to design and choose a look that is based on your style, personality, face shape, eye shape, skin colour/texture, lighting conditions, venue and whether you're being photographed.
Ali holds a Diploma in Makeup which is the highest level attainable in Australia and is a member of the Australian Association of Makeup Artists.
I prefer a natural look - will I look or feel overdone?
You are not alone, many women feel this way. Ali takes care to listen to your wishes and to design a makeup that's perfect for you as an individual.
Do you provide a hairstyling service?
Ali can provide hairstyling; however her expertise is in the application of makeup. For groups of two or more, it is best to have a separate hairstylist; it's more time efficient because Ali and the hairstylist can work on two people at the same time.
How long does a makeup application take?
Ali recommends allowing a minimum of 45 minutes for the bride and 35 minutes for all other makeup applications.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Ali Price Makeup accepts cash and Electronic Funds Transfer. Please contact Ali for EFT details.
Do you provide a mobile service?
Yes, Ali Price Makeup provides a fully mobile service. For locations 30 kms outside the Perth CBD, a travel surcharge may apply. Please contact Ali for a more detailed quote.
What makeup products do you use?
Ali Price Makeup uses Atelier, MAC, NARS, Stila, Cosmetic Lab Minerals, Kryolan, Chanel, Inglot, Pola, YSL, Laura Mercier to name a few. Ali chooses the best products from a variety of ranges and constantly updates her kit to reflect style trends and advancements in makeup technology.
Do I need to prepare for my trial?
The more information Ali has about you, the better! Collect pictures from magazines. Ali likes to see your dress and jewellery; details of the flowers, the bridesmaid's dresses and a picture of how your hair is to be styled. All this provides her with a guide to your tastes and personal style.
How should I prepare my skin?
Leading up to your event, regular facials are ideal along with a good daily skincare routine. Have your waxing completed at least one day prior to your special occasion. The night before gently exfoliate your face and on the day ensure your face is freshly cleansed and moisturized. It's important that your eyebrows are expertly shaped.. Ali is able to do this for you prior to the day. For more details see Ali's Ultimate Eyebrow and Lash package.
Will I need to touch up my makeup?
Your foundation and eye makeup is applied to ensure maximum wear, so it will last for hours without a touch up. If your skin is prone to oiliness, Ali recommends a powder compact or blotting papers. You will need to touch up your lipstick. It's a good idea to allocate one of your bridesmaids as 'makeup attendant'. She will check your makeup before the photos and keep an eye on you throughout the evening to ensure you look your best.
Ali can also supply an optional 'touch-up' kit which may include essentials such as blotting paper, compact powder and lipstick. Alternatively Ali can make a list of products for you to purchase.
Should I have my hair or makeup completed first?
It's preferable to have your hair done first followed by makeup. If your hairstylist is present, Ali will liaise with them to determine the best outcome for you.
What hygiene processes do you have in place?
Ali observes strict hygiene practices; using a hand sanitiser between clients and all lip and mascara products are applied with disposable wands. Her makeup brushes are sanitised between each client and thoroughly washed each day.
My skin is sensitive.
In every case, Ali use what is best for your skin's needs. If you are concerned and have known allergies you can discuss your specific needs with Ali over the phone or at the trial.
Do you offer gift certificates?
A gift certificate is a wonderful idea and most women love the idea of being pampered. Ali is happy to arrange for a personalised gift certificate (link to fees) to be mailed out to you.
